Cheese Fun Do

Well what do you know? Not only is the BBC looking for a cheese national anthem as Phil points out below, but it appears we aren’t the only Eurovision related turophiles round these parts. Oh no. Next Wednesday evening in London Town (City Centre) a complete acquaintance of On Europe and all-round Eurovision expert (he’s been on the Aunty BBC talking about Mr Humperdinck thank you very much) Mr Liam Jarnecki will be hosting Cheese Fun Do in aid of the Macmillan Cancer charity. The event will be celebrating our two favourite things – Eurovision and cheese! Mr Jarnecki will be guiding the audience through the finer points of this year’s entries by means of a preview and at the same time we will be asked to contemplate the virtues of several types of cheese! I can scarcely think of anything more doubly exciting, and all just two days before Rosé West and I jet off to Baku; what a send off.

  1. Sadly one will be in Baku, hunting down Azeri delights for turophiles everywhere. Let us all know how it goes.

  3. And as luck, or otherwise, would have it, I am supplying the cheese for the event. My company supplies cheese to restaurants and just at the very moment they become perfectly ripe, they also hit their sell-by date, so instead of chucking it all in the bin, we will be sampling it and listening to cheese at the same time. It will be a bit like Pret handing out unsold sandwiches to tramps on street corners, only with a little more class :-) We will have a special cheese for the On Europe Team. Stinking Bishop, probably!
